OUR JOURNEY
AST is an experienced, industry-recognized, CPUC Certified, Diverse utility contractor specializing in the restoration and repair of concrete, timber, and steel civil structures.
Our main focus is on supporting the power industry with an emphasis on hydroelectric infrastructure repair and restoration in a wide range of applications, including; scheduled outages, live assets, and emergency response scenarios.
Our scope of project activities ranges from maintenance items to major structural restoration and retrofit requirements. AST is exceptionally experienced in working safely and efficiently within powerhouse hydraulic structures, water conveyance structures, dam structures, water conveyance structures, dam structures, and tunnels. AST is an ongoing PG&E Safety Training Academy client and is a signatory employer with the IBEW Local 1245.
CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDER
Glenn P. Evans
Glenn has been working in the structural concrete restoration industry since 1984. He obtained his General Engineering Contractors License (A-classification) in 1988 under his original firm, Concrete Technology, as a sole proprietor. A new license was issued in 1994, when Alternative Structural Technologies, Inc. was born as a California Corporation and remains active and growing today. Glenn appreciates his Hawaiian ancestry and is
firmly rooted in Polynesian culture and convention.
He is dedicated to his 7 children and 5 grandchildren.
Glenn’s interests include, Offshore and inland fishing, surfing, cooking, sewing and competitive target sports.
